I was born and raised in Goa. My photographic interests lie in landscapes, architecture, portraiture, street life, culture, religion, and photojournalism. Places that I find particularly inspiring are Goa, Iceland, and California.

I have shot extensively in my homeland of Goa, recording its surviving heritage and its sui generis ethos. I have documented the destruction of Goa's environment and its rapid slide into the ugliness and urban chaos that characterize today's India.

I am also a musician, with a lifelong association with the musical traditions of India. I live in California and spend extended time in Goa.

A Mývatn Dream

These are photographs from the volcanic region of Mývatn in northern Iceland.

In the first image, the peaks of Námafjall are circumscribed by a section of the Ring Road. Steam is seen rising from vents in the earth in this highly active geothermal area.

One evening around sundown we stumbled into a dreamscape as a blanket of fog settled over Mývatn. The timing was fortuitous – we were already on top of Dalfjall as the luscious scene unfolded.
