Parrikar http://www.parrikar.com/blog/?p=2603 Around 10 miles in length and 440 metres high, Látrabjarg in Iceland is considered among the world’s greatest bird cliffs. We got there a little after 10 pm last night. It is a wondrous sight.

Látrabjarg was the scene of the dramatic rescue of the British trawler Dhoon in 1947. (Hint to the curious: use Google.)

Parrikar http://www.parrikar.com/blog/?p=382 In one of his recent blog entries, the distinguished photographer Jim Zuckerman observes that the sun can be made salient in a composition by the use of super-telephoto lenses.  That reminded me of something similar I had done last year on the island village of Divar in Goa.  I had both the 300L f/4 IS (not quite the reach of 700mm that Jim had for his shot) and the 135L lenses mounted on my EOS 5D bodies, and it made for an instructive comparison.
