Goa’s northernmost beach. The village of Keri (Querim) in Pernem taluka lies on the northern tip of Goa. The beach here is still pristine (but don’t worry, Goans will soon find a way to fix that). These images were taken on a squally monsoon evening in August.

Two special men greet the rising sun this morning from the Aguada cliff: my father Motilal Parrikar, and my exceptional driver & photographic assistant Babu Naik (without whom I couldn’t do what I do). Behind them is the expanse of the Arabian Sea.
When the sun sets this evening, it will close out the first decade of this century. The image below was made in February 2008 in the village of Canaguinim in south Goa. The elevated plateau here has a spectacular view of the setting sun over the Arabian Sea.
I do not know what I may appear to the world, but to myself I seem to have been only like a boy playing on the sea-shore, and diverting myself in now and then finding a smoother pebble or a prettier shell than ordinary, whilst the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me….
